As a wedding photographer, capturing the beauty and essence of a Catholic wedding can be a truly rewarding experience. I use my 85mm and 24-120mm primarily in churches since you can't get too close to the action. Most churches have a no-flash policy because it's distracting, so be prepared. I shoot with the Nikon Z6ii, which is amazing in low-light situations like this.

Most Catholic churches have restrictions during the ceremony on where you can and cannot go. The most common restriction is no photography from the main aisle during the ceremony. Familiarize yourself with those rules before the wedding.

Try to blend in with the crowd and avoid drawing attention to yourself or your equipment. I do some things to not draw attention to myself, like dressing modestly and in all black. Also, whenever I need to move throughout the church during the ceremony, I usually wait until the congregation stands or sings.
